Display series of articles w/graphic not appearing in post?

I’ve got a bit of a quandary here trying to figure out the best way to do this, if even possible in WP.

I’m currently creating a series of posts which are various press releases and news articles for a client. Idea is on the index page to have a logo for the publication and to the right of that, a quote from the article. Now for that I know you just simply add some text in the Excerpt field but you can’t place image there. Just text.

So I’m wondering if there’s a way I can do this where I can have a logo for the publication, insert that but it only appears on the index page, not in the article. Also, would using the Page of Posts script work well here? The blog for the client is supposed to look like a blog and this is a different layout scheme.
