    Hi,
“Categories of reviews” are quite confusing!

    We have 3 Review categories.

We ‘d like to display only reviews of one category (id: 1424) with the shortcode: [site_reviews assigned_terms=”1424″]

    Nothing is displayed!

After checking the categories in Post page, the 3 “Categories of reviews” are not present here.

Is it possible to display reviews of one category (of reviews)?

Normal post/page categories and tags do not work with reviews.

Is the category (ID 1424) a Site Reviews category or a normal post/page category?

    Thanks for your quick reply.

I’m talking about a Site Reviews category (like your screenshot) to not mix the both categories types in fact and only use Reviews categories for Reviews.

    Is that clear enough?

Have you assigned any reviews to that category?

Yes as you can see here:

    1. Make sure that you are using straight (plain-text) ” quotes and not curly ” quotes in the shortcode.

    2. If you are using a page builder, make sure to change the text editor to plain text before pasting in the shortcode. When the text editor is in rich text mode, sometimes it will insert invisible <span>tags inside the shortcode which breaks the shortcode options.

    1. Here the shortcode I used with straight (plain-text) double quotes:
    [site_reviews class="reviewDisplay" display="1" pagination="ajax" hide="response" assigned_terms="1424"]

    2. With NO page builder and standard Text Edition mode.

What is the URL of the page that is displaying the shortcode?

Sadly, the website is not yet public.

The reviews on that page are not assigned to any category.

When reviews are assigned to a category or page, it will look like this in the HTML source:

Make sure that your reviews have been assigned to your categories, you can check the “Categories” column on the the “All Reviews” page to confirm this.

If they have been assigned to a category, then you may need to run the repair tools (find them on the Site Reviews Tools page).

If the repair tools do not fix the problem, try deactivating the Site Reviews plugin and then activating it again.

If you still have this problem after running the tools shown above and after deactivating/reactivating Site Reviews, then please fill out the Contact Support section on the “Help & Support” page and send me your Site Reviews Console Log and Site Reviews System Info files.

The Reviews are indeed assigned to categories:

Here the exact shortcode used on this page:

    [site_reviews class="reviewDisplay" display="1" pagination="ajax" hide="response" assigned_terms="4896"]

I used the 2 repair tools, Desactive/Re-active the plugin for the same result.

So I send you the requested info log.

@benbois Since I am unable to reproduce this, and since there are no indications as to what could be causing it in the Console and System Info files you sent me, the only way I can maybe help you further is if you had a non-production test website where this issue can be reproduced, or possibly with a Zoom or TeamViewer call where you show me the problem and I try and walk you through troubleshooting steps.

@geminilabs, I’ll will try to setup a non-prod website to reproduce, test and eventually let you access also!
