    Hiya,

    We want to add a “teacher feature” to the frontpage of our website and that would be a randomly selected profile card and maybe an alternate layout of said profile card.

    How would I go about realizing this? Thank you!

    You can try the “User Profile Scrolling” plugin.

    Missing options for your case are probably:
    – Random scrolling User Role dependent
    – Random the only button.

    Hiya missveronica, thank you so much for the quick reply. ?? I downloaded the plugin and activated it. Now how do I deploy it properly?

    You have the Plugin settings at:
    UM Settings -> Appearance -> Profile -> “User Profile Scrolling”

    – Profile Forms to include in scrolling – Select your Profile Form
    – meta_key – Select one of the Fields in dropdown
    – Random – Tick the checkbox

    meta_key is used for Previous/Next buttons and defines the sorting order.

    I found it and looked at it; does this change the entire “Instructor’s Profile” to that of a “Scrolling” nature?

    I also don’t know how to embed a widget on the front page of our site. How could I accomplish this, using the plugin?

    There is an update to version 1.2.0 of the plugin “User Profile Scrolling” now.

    New settings for Profile Roles to use the Scrolling (Teacher)
    and Profile Roles to display (Students)
    for both Scrolling options Previous/Next and Random.
    Both Scrolling option buttons can now be enabled/disabled.

    Thank you MissVeronica, I just tried to deploy the plugin in the following manner: I cloned the “Instructor Form” (called it “Random User”) and set the plugin to use the form “Random User”. Conversely I also set the other settings to “Instructors”, the groups and users I want to display. I then added the shortcode for that form to the frontpage of the website and all it displayed was my own personal profile.

    I’m doing something wrong and I don’t know what it is. Please help. ?? Thank you!

    How is your UM Roles “Profile Access” settings for the Instructors role?

    Can view other member profiles? – Ticked
    Can view these user roles only – Select the Instructors
