Sorry, if the question has already been asked, but I can’t find an answer.
Where/how can I display the QR code or token for an authentication app if the plugin is already configured?

    Hello @hessi2

Thank you very much for using our plugin.

Do you mean a user has already configured 2FA and is using an app to get the one-time login code, however, you would like to change that / reconfigure it?

If that is the case, you can navigate to the user’s profile page and click the “Reconfigure 2FA” button.

If that is not the case, can you please give us more details on what exactly you would like to achieve?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Robert,

    thanks for the quick reply!
I want to set up another phone, or app on the desktop without having to reconfigure everything. For this, I need the currently used “master token” for my user.

    TIA
    Michael

Thank you for the explanation @hessi2

I am afraid that’s not possible. I think the only service that supports multiple devices for a single 2FA account is Authy. You can read more about it here: https://authy.com/blog/multi-multi-factor-authentication/

What we recommend and use is the Authy 2FA app – you can install it on your mobile phone and portable devices, and also on Windows, Mac and Linux Pcs. All the applications can be synced to the same account, so then regardless which hardware you use, you’ll have 2FA available.

You can get the Authy app from here: https://authy.com/download/

Please note that we are in no way associated with Authy.

I hope the above helps. Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Have a great day.

    Hi Robert,

we are probably talking at cross purposes. ?? I use Authy. I only need the masterkey from WP 2FA to set it up.

How can I get WP 2FA to show me the masterkey currently in use?

    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hello @hessi2

There is no option to see it via the UI. However, you can find the key for the user in question in the wp_usermeta table. When a user configures 2FA, the key is stored in the meta_key wp_2fa_totp_key.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you need any further information.
