Display Promotions Elsewhere on Site. Categories?

I’m using the Promotion Slider on my site and it works perfectly for what I need. The only problem I have is I want to be able to have my promotions visible elsewhere through the site, not just on sliders.
I figured the way to do this was to make posts instead of Promotions and use the Category functionality, but that doesn’t seem to be working. If I enter anything for category into my shortcode the slider disappears altogether. Also in your screenshots I see a category option under the Promotions tab. I don’t have that, was it removed?
I’d like to be able to either be able to show pages/posts in my slider and not just promotions (which it seems like this slider is capable of, but I can’t get working) or be able to display a list of Promotions elsewhere, like in a widget or menu item.
