    Hi there,

I’m using the Top Posts widget in a build I’m doing on Beaver Builder. I’m looking to display the post category on the frontend. So the layout would be:

    Image
    Category
    Title
    Author

I have everything else covered but can’t seem to get the category to work properly. The widget is being used at the top of the left sidebar on the page linked.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Jamie

    Hi @gillinghamjamie

Looking at your site’s left sidebar, it appears that you got this working. Can you confirm?

If you ended up customizing any Jetpack code to accomplish this, sharing it here would help other users in the future.

@lastsplash No, I haven’t! Perhaps you were looking at cardiffreview.com which uses a different widget, but the page I’m referring to is cardiffreview.com/homepage where I’m building a new static homepage.

Any ideas on how I can add the category?

    Thanks,

    Jamie

    Jamie,

I’m getting a “404 Page Not Found” error at that link.

It’s possible that you haven’t made that public since you’re working on it, and haven’t set it to be your new, actual homepage yet.

Other than the 404 error, it looks the same as cardiffreview.com in the left sidebar.

@madhattersez Oops; I had made the page a draft again. It’s live now. Any help would be much appreciated! I found the function for adding author and it worked great, but can’t seem to figure out category. Again, the page is cardiffreview.com/homepage and it’s the left sidebar.

    Thank you!

Ahh yes, I see the widget now:

Unfortunately, assisting with this level of customization is outside the scope of what we can support. It is possible that someone from the community may chime in with an idea of how to do this.
