Display post categories in post grid or list?

I’ve noticed there isn’t an option to display the blog post category in the post grid or post list block. This is super important to me and my clients + customers. Can we be expecting this feature soon? I’ve read some talks about it but haven’t heard much else lately. If anyone knows a way around this for the time being, it would be great if you could share.
