Display pages in separate categories

  • Please bear with me, this is quite difficult to explain…

    I’d like to display all pages within that page’s category in the sidebar (and only that category)

    If looking at a different category page, I want to display all the pages in that category in the sidebar.

    The standard widgets will only display all pages and categories at once.

    How is it best to tackle this problem? A set of Custom Page Templates, one for each category? or is there is some magic plugin that creates a widget I am missing?
