• Hi I would like to display a summary of 4 of my services pages, similar to what can be done with posts, but this time with pages as the content being fetched is from pages. Somehow I want the user to be able to select which pages to the display summaries from on the front page.

Therefore the user would be able to have his most popular services described briefly on the front page with a link to the full service page.

Any help on how I can do this? thanks

  • How would you define “popular”? If you want to fully control the page summaries yourself, then simply create a static page and add your own snippets manually. No need to complicate things here.

He would decide which ones to have on the front page, I just need a way to generate the summary of those pages, like we can do with the <!–more–> tag in posts, then I would just call these snippets in the front page.

Wait, so you want each user to potentially have a different set of summaries? From a technical standpoint, I’m not sure if there’s a plugin that would do that.

From a usability standpoint, I’m not so sure users would even want that.

Looking at it from a business point of view, what would the user get out of this? What would the business get out of it?
