• How do you place two (or more) mp3 files on the same post/page in two (or more) LOCATIONS?

When I post one mp3 file on a page, the player works great.

But when I try to add a second mp3 on the same page, one of two things happens after I add the second mp3 at the bottom with “Add Media File”:

    1. If I only place one player location marker [display_podcast], then two players show up “stacked” on top of each other. (I want text between the players.)

    2. If I place two player location markers [display_podcast] separated by text on the page (i.e. one player at the top of the page and one at the bottom), then NO player is displayed. However, a double title shows up in each location, without a player.

    Can you help?

Do I need to indicate two (or more) player locations (i.e. [display_podcast_1] and [display_podcast_2])?

Goal: Add two (or more) mp3 to a single post/page, separated by text, using the player location marker(s) [display_podcast] and result in two (or more) players on the public presentation page.

    Thank you for your help.

  • The place-holder [display_podcast] is meant to be used only once per post. (If you add more than one place holder per post you will get exactly what you could observe.)
Further podPress replaces this place-holder always with a segment which includes players and download links etc. for all media files.

So far it is not possible to do what you want (to place the player and the other elements for each media file separately in a post).
But that is an interesting idea and I will think about a way to implement such a feature.
(To use place-holders with an ID is a good idea.)

    Tim,

    Thank you for your response.

Do you think you can make multiple, individual, place-holders on the same page/post?

When do you think that might be available?

    Yes, I think so.

I’m really not sure. It might take a few weeks. Working on podPress is not my day job. It’s only a hobby.
Currently I’m working on a bug fix version (8.8.10.9) which will be available next week and a version with new features (8.8.11) which may be released in 2-3 weeks. But I do not know yet whether I put this feature into this version or in version 8.8.12.

    Tim,

Thank you for working so hard on this audio player.

Obviously by the number of downloads you are helping a lot of people.

I hope you work out the multiple place-holders on the same post/page (separated by text) in the new release. That would be cool. I’m sure there are lots of people like me who are using your player simply to play mp3 on a webpage (as opposed to podcasting). I like it better than all the other audio players I’ve seen/tried.

Thanks for making a cool looking player that is nible to use.

    SplitTest,

the feature is at the top of my task list.

But because you mentioned the player which is part of podPress often, I need to give credit to the those who have created the player software. The the MP3, OGG and FLV players are written by people which have not much directly to do with podPress. The players are 3rd party software in podPress and some of them like the 1PixelOut player are also available as separate WP plugins (see https://www.1pixelout.net/code/audio-player-wordpress-plugin/).
podPress combines them with a bunch of other features which should help especially podcasters.
