I can’t find the display mode after I activate the plugin (nav-menu-roles). What should I do ? By the way, I’m using Javo Directory as my theme.

    Please check the FAQ

Most likely you have a conflict from a plugin or a theme. You can isolate this type of issue by:

    1. Temporarily switch back to a default WordPress theme (or Storefront). If this resolves the issue, then please bring this to the attention of your theme author.
    2. If the issue persists, then disable all other plugins except for Nav Menu Roles. If this fixes the issue, then slowly re-enable plugins until you find the one causing it.

The first method is suitable for me. Now, the problem is solved. I’ll bring this to attention of my theme author. Thanks for your help !

Great! Please encourage them to use WordPress 5.4 wp_nav_menu_item_custom_fields hook instead of replacing the entire menu walker. Or if they must, at least include the core hook for compatibility.

Fyi, I did add support for menu config via the customizer so you should be able to edit visibility there.
