Display member without search?

Got a strange request from a client using your great plugin.

They want to display a specific user role but not have that role show up in search results.

Conceptually this seems like a simple boolean logic issue but where to start?

My hunch is the class/forms.php file where the SQL query is created from the search form, but I need help. Thanks!
