I would like to have a page with a list of tasks, each linked to the signup sheet. I haven’t found documentation for this.

It would be useful to have a category for each task and be able to select the category for the list.

Thanks for reaching out @artju. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “a page with list of tasks”. The plugin allows you to create individual volunteer opportunities that website visitors can sign up for. If you wanted visitors to be able to sign up for different tasks I’d suggest creating a new opportunity for each one.

I’m also not quite sure what you mean by “It would be useful to have a category for each task and be able to select the category for the list.” Can you give me a little more detail on that front?

    Have a good one.

I want to post the tasks on a WordPress web page so that the user can select a task from a list of titles and be directed to the signup form. Ideally there might be several pages with different lists on each.

    Thank you for the response.

Thanks for getting back to me Art. Can you clarify what you mean by the word “tasks”? I’m still not certain what you’re referring to.

If you simply want to link to different volunteer opportunities you can always create a page with a list of links. I think that would definitely be the simplest approach.

    volunteer opportunities=tasks
It should be possible for the plugin to create the list of volunteer opportunities. It would be similar to the way events plugins create a list of events.

    Thanks for your concern.

Thanks for clarifying. You can definitely show a list of the volunteer opportunities on a page. If you want to show a list of the one-time volunteer opportunities, add the text [one_time_volunteer_opps] on the page where you want them to display. If you want to show flexible volunteer opportunities (those without a fixed date and time) on another page, simply put the text [flexible_volunteer_opps] within your page’s content.

Let me know how that works for you.

    Thank you again.

This appears to work just fine. https://www.mduuc.org/how-we-work/volunteer-signups/

It would have saved both of us time if I could have found documentation that told me.

Please consider adding a category that would restrict the display to a category.

That’s great. I’m glad it worked for you and I’m sorry it wasn’t easier to figure out.

I’ve noted that you’d like us to add categories for volunteer opportunities. That is definitely one we’ve heard before, so thank you for voicing that.

Take care and let us know if any other questions come up.
