Hello there. I’m trying to display my photo albums as you shown in your screenshots here:
https://ps.w.org/wp-photo-album-plus/assets/screenshot-4.png?rev=1836393
How i do this? I’m not using shortcode [wppa type=”generic” cache=”60″] , but it’s different from the link above? I’m missing Download button too? How to make it the same, what shortcode to use. And is it possibel to add search bar too with shortcode?

The display you refer to is what we call ‘slideshow’
You can display a slideshow using a shortcode like[wppa type="slide" album="3"]
where3
is the album id.To display the download link in a slideshow, go to the Photo Albums -> Settings admin screen, and open Table VI-C and set item 1 to ‘image file’, item 1.1 ticked, item 1.2 to ‘button’. This will directly show the photo in a new tab of the browser.
If you set Table VI-C1 to ‘New style’, the button will show up in the photo description field and will open the download dialog. For more info about shortcode attributes see: https://wppa.nl/shortcode-reference/
Yes, i found the settings. There are so many, that it’s hard for me to track them.
I will need few things to help me with.
1. Can i add Search bar for albums titles here – https://prnt.sc/ud129k
If it’s possible, what shortcode for Search i need to use?
2. I’ve searched for views/link and pagination, but couldn’t find the right Click to make.
https://prnt.sc/ud12yq – check picutre. Which are and from where to active them?
3. When No EXIF data works? I have few pictures that have EXIF date, but most are without? From what that depends? How can i make all pictures to have exif date?
4. How can i increase image size here – https://prnt.sc/ud1dn4 … i want it to look bigger?
5. Is it possible to hide image’s title? – https://prnt.sc/ud1ix4
1. Place shortcodes
[wppa type="search" landing="xxxx"] [wppa type="landing"]
before the existing shortcode, where xxxx is the id of the page you are on.
Set the occ (occur) to 2 in Table IX-E1. This will cause the results of searching to be placed in the landing shortcode location.2. Make a standard description in Table IX-D5. Apply it to all new photos (Table IX-D3) and existing (Table VIII-B4.2).
You can use keywords to display photo dependant data, likew#pl
for permalink andw#views
for number of views. See https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/keywords/ for more keywords.3. Exif data is put into the file by the camera. If you edit photos before uploading, it may get lost.
4. Increase the size in Table I-B1 and B2.
5. Untick Table II-D1
Hi and thanks. The plugin is amazing.
Can you tell me how to fixt this – https://prnt.sc/udws5p
That blank space it’s to much? How can i close the gap?
And how to fix this repeat of the images ? -https://prnt.sc/udwszs
And i didn’t get how to active pagionation and views? – https://prnt.sc/udwu7e
How to use those tags, where to add them?
And i cannot make the search to work – no results.
https://prnt.sc/udwv9s – my settings there.
Here is link to the plugin page – https://otaku.bg/otakubg/photo-album/
Those are my shortcodes in this page:
[wppa type=”search” landing=”photo-album”]
[wppa type=”landing”]
[wppa type=”generic” cache=”60″]If it’s needed, i will find the ID of this page and replace photo-album.
Can you tell me how to fixt this – https://prnt.sc/udws5p
Set Table IV-B1: V align, to fit
And how to fix this repeat of the images ? -https://prnt.sc/udwszs
Untivk Table IV-B8: Slideshow wrap around
And i didn’t get how to active pagionation and views? – https://prnt.sc/udwu7e
Pagination: Table I-B8: Slideshow pagesize
Views: Make sure Table IV-A9.1: Track viewcounts is ticked.
addw#views
to the description. See: https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/keywords/ for more info. How to use those tags, where to add them?
Add them on the Photo Albums -> Album Admin -> Edit -> Manage Photos – Edit photo information screen.
And i cannot make the search to work – no results.
Table VIII-C3 tells you what words are indexed so they can be found by search.
[wppa type=”search” landing=”photo-album”] should be like
[wppa type=”search” landing=”23”] if 23 is the page id. You can find the page id when you edit the page. The browser addressline shows something like:
https://.../wp-admin/post.php?post=814&action=edit
This means the page id = 814Hi, thanks for your patience.
I’ve added it like this – https://prnt.sc/uedfoz
And i have this set as this – https://prnt.sc/uedi7d
But when you try to search for album title, for example – https://otaku.bg/otakubg/photo-album/
This is my site, if i search for my first album, One Piece – Wallpapers , nothing happens. No matter what i search, it’s always no results. Maybe it’s not working correctly? Not set correctly?
And i really don’t know how to add the keywords.
I’ve added it here – https://prnt.sc/uedpiy but it’s not working? It shows the keyword as text under the picture? What i’m doing wrog?I am studying about search not working, i will come back to you later.
The keaywords should be entered in the photo description fields,
see here for a screenshot:
https://wppa.nl/wp-content/wppa-pl/Screenshots/Photo-descxription.jpg
and here for the result: https://wppa.nl/my-album/wppaspec/oc1/lnen/cv0/ab99/pt4903- This reply was modified 4 years, 2 months ago by Jacob N. Breetvelt. Reason: added screenshot and example
It is most likely that some plugin prevents the proper functioning of the search mechanism.
You can try the following:
Set Table IX-E23: Search form method to get instead of ‘post’
Put it like this, but nothing can be searched. I’m gonna try it to another site and see if it’s plugin conflict.
Edit: I’ve tried it to another wordpress install, more clean.
That’s how it search – https://prnt.sc/ukgf58
Puts just the search results in top to other albums. Is that how it should work? This way is default showing of results? Is yes, is it possible to hide other albums, to show only search result?
Here link of that site – https://vqc.otaku.bg/photo-album/
There is some mechanism (theme setting or plugin) that removes all querystrings and post data.
If you enter this in the browser addressline:
https://vqc.otaku.bg/photo-album/?wppa-searchstring=onward&wppa-occur=2
you will see that it works.Somewhere outside wppa this data gets lost
What i’ve notice till now.
If i have installed Ivory Search plugin, your search does not work. I’m getting error with not found page.
If i use Ajay search plugin, for some reason, the search string of ajay is saved in your search bar and i cannot search anything else. For example, if i write Fairy Gone in ajay search plugin, this searchstring is is saved in your search bar and cannot be change. Everytime when u search, it opens Fairy Gone, no matter what u write in the bar.
Check picure – https://prnt.sc/ul6wxu
Is there any way to fix this at least for ajay search plugin, cuz i need it?
Why do you have a search plugin anyway? Is the search functionality of wp and wppa not sufficient???
I’m using my theme search for Pages and Ajay plugin for video posts. That’s why i have those two.

Wppa uses the default wp search dialog. This is apparently modified by one of your pluigins, in a way that it does no longer work for wppa.
I will provide a setting – in the next version – to force wppa to use its own search dialog. That should fix it.
By the end of the week it will be available in version 7.5.06
I will inform you when it is released what setting you will have to change.Thanks. Gonna check it right away.
