    Hi,

Trying to get my site to run faster, installed W3 Total Cache. After configuring everything, maybe I configured too much, because at a certain point the display got messed up display issues here
I went through and disabled parts of the plugin, but I cannot seem to get it to return to normal unless I disable the plugin. I was hoping to just uninstall and reinstall but it looks to be a manual operation I don’t quite have time for at the moment. Is there a quick way to reset the whole thing to defaults or remove it altogether? Or does anyone recognize this issue and have a solution?
I am using pinboard and WP 3.5.1

    Thank you,
    Angelo

After deactivating the plugin go in the folder wp-content and delete the folder w3tc-config and the files w3-total-cache-config.php, object-cache.php, db.php and advanced-cache.php

Thanks, Daniel. Is this the instruction for resetting the plugin?

I’m having the same issue as well. petalumapie did that work for you.

What these instructions did was allow me to delete the plugin. I am attempting to reinstall and will see if I have the same issues.

After deleting and reinstalling, I went through the settings one by one and checked the website after each change. So far, no issues. Not sure which setting messed it up in the first place. It is not as fast as I would like it to be yet, but I will keep plugging away.

Now I am getting a cryptic message in wordpress “Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: File “/home/angelo/petalumapiecompany.com/wp-content/themes/pinboard/js/small-menu.js” doesn’t exist.” along with emails to me alerting me that “Unfortunately, an error occurred while creating the minify cache. Please check your settings to ensure your site is working as intended.”

I can tell it has something to do with minify and JS but I am not that sophisticated in this area. Does anyone have an idea what might be. The website was also displaying without the header earlier today, so I de-activated the plugin until I could revisit it.

I did check the directory and inside o pinboard, there is no js and there is no small-menu.js I just don’t understand what to do to make it exist.

Now it is the next day. This problem seems to happen after a few hours have passed. The display is messed up. It seems to be trying to display a mobile version on a computer web browser, but when you click “view full site” it reloads the same view. Also it mangles the mobile site so the menu is on top of the page title and is inaccessible. I cannot seem to find which setting in minify is creating the problem, but I am going back to WP Supercache until I can find a solution.
    Here is the display issue.

I am marking this as resolved as in- I gave up and am not using W3 total cache. I think it is minify that was ultimately the issue. I tried other plugins that minify and also had display issues.

I had a similar problem on my site. The site is multilingual. The display problem was that the main menu in the primary language (English) was not displaying any submenus, and the same main menu in the two other languages were not displaying at all.

Eventually, I resolved the problem by disabling JavaScript Minify: W3 Total Cache | Minify | JS | uncheck the “Enable” checkbox. With just that one setting unchecked, everything worked fine for me.

Thanks, petalumapie; without your indication of Minify as the source of the problem, I wouldn’t have known where to start looking!
