Thanks for your question. I want to make sure I understand it completely and gather a bit more information so I can give you some guidance.

The first step in this process is mapping the IPTC keywords to a WordPress Taxonomy and assigning the keywords as terms to your items. MLA provides mapping rules on the Settings/Media Library Assistant IPTC/EXIF screen; have you created the rule(s) you want?

The second step is composing the [mla_gallery] to display the images and displaying the terms. There is an MLA example custom plugin for that, and I will find it for you. Other than the hyprlinked tags, have you worked out the [mla_gallery] shortcode you want? If so, can you post it to give me a starting point?

The final step is creating the destination you want when a term is clicked. The most useful destination is a page containing an [mla_gallery] that will display the items matching the term. Is that what you want? If not, what destination do you have in mind?

Thanks for any additional information you can give me.

Thanks very much for your reply David, basically all I want is the image IPTC keywords to display below each image (as a linked keyword to a page with other images from the same keyword) but to be honest from your advice it all seems to be in the ‘too hard basket’ at the moment.
I need to understand the terms you use before I can even begin to get this working eg: mapping, taxonomy, etc.
I was hoping it would be something simple like the IPTC description which gets automatically populated below each image.
Give me some time to read through your documentation and I will get back to you with greater understanding, thanks!

Thanks for your update. I know there is a lot of WordPress- and MLA-specific material to absorb. Here are two earlier topics you may find useful:

Using tag cloud shortcode to display galleries

    Tag cloud output

I am traveling until 9/25, but I can put together more specific examples after my return. Any additional details of your application goals in the interim will be helpful.

It has been two months since my last post in this topic and I have seen nothing further. I assume you have found a solution that works for your application.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you still need help with displaying IPTC values in your gallery display. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
