Display Info for a few Events in a Page/Post

    I want to display a few events at the bottom of the page, much like you get a few blog post teasers. I would like to be able to display a “THIS WEEK” sort of event summary, or maybe “THIS MONTH”, as well as filtering by category or other attribute.

    Is this possible? Can I format it the way I like?

    If the event takes place within a day(or other specified interval) I would like a special formatting.

    I couldn’t find a way to do this with the calendar shortcode.
