Display Full or just Excerpts for categories

Heya guys!

I’m just wondering, how to modify the archive.php template, so that it will display certain categories in “full text” mode (rather than an excerpt).

Im thinking of using if .. else in PHP, but I don’t know how to check which variable. If anyone could just give me a nudge I would be grateful.
