    Hi Charlie,

I added some code to my theme so that it shows the selected genre as page title and then lists the movies within that genre underneath in the standard WordPress archive format. I noticed that when I choose a media type, it does not show the media type as the page title. It doesn’t show the media type in the breadcrumb either, though I see from the permalink that I am on the page displaying DVDs, for example. Any way in future releases to treat the media types like you treat actors and genres? This would make it easy to add new media types and also would allow the media type to show in the title. Seems like the way it is now does not support that. Also, if you can think of a way around that so I can get the media type to show, please let me know.

    Thanks!

  • The breadcrumb part is more of a theme issue as the plugin has no way to control this; the page title in another thing, I’ll see how it can be handled properly. Thanks!

Hi Charlie. I believe the breadcrumb plugin actually uses the title if it is generated. That is how I got the Genre titles to show in breadcrumb. For media types in WP Movie Library, since those seem to be treated differently than tags/categories like Genre, it “looks” like they don’t generate a title that WP can use. If you can figure that out, then cool. If you someday treat Media Types as a category (I guess) like Genre, that would be really cool. The reason I am focused on Media Type is because we have our digital movies in different places (like iTunes, Amazon, x-box, Google Play, etc.) and it is good to know quickly where to go find something. This is just my wish list though. You keep doing what works for you. Thanks!

I know what you mean, and that’s not a bad idea. There are a lot of inconsistencies with the way movies are currently displayed, hopefully with the new JS-powered grid we can have a more coherent frontend ??

To get around this for now, any way to just create a page and have it pull in all the movies of a given media type?

    Hi Charlie,

Don’t worry about the above. I found a workaround that let’s me add my own taxonomy to movies via a plugin. I then created tags for my various media types, applied the tags to the movies, and now I can get the pages to display the breadcrumb nav and titles for media types just the way I want.

    Cheers!
