Display Categories Function doesn’t work

Hello!
In my web site i use 3-level categories. Ex:
Shop page
1.Flowers
1.1 daisy
1.2 camomile
2.Trees
2.1 evergreen tree
2.1.1 spruce
2.1.2 silver-fir
2.2 broadleaved tree
3.Bushes

So, the issue is that I need only items 1,2,3 to be displayed on the Shop Page as well as only 2.1 and 2.2 should be displayed on the Tree Page. BUT what i have is that on Tree Page and higher i have 2.1.1, 2.1.2.
General options – Products I set “display Categories”. But it doesn’t work, I still have lower items on every page.
Please help.
