In the series TOC, I would like to display the author and tags of all posts in a series alongside each excerpt and title. Would this be a Pro feature?

I’m asking because I’m setting up a community fiction site for other users to post on (alongside BuddyPress and bbPress), and multiple posts are episodic. And I’m trying to use Permissions and/or Capabilities to limit those with author rights (I’m using Molongui) to only manage/add to/create/delete/see their own series (I’m also having issues with this as well). And I’ve seen other community user-created fiction sites with a series feature that includes associated authors and tags. Is this possible?

This is also an adult site which I’m not comfortable linking to publicly, but I am willing to PM the developer if requested.

    Hi @harryunderwood

It will need some customization to display the author and tags in the series TOC.

You can read more about it here: https://publishpress.com/knowledge-base/series-toc/#how-to-customize-the-series-toc-shortcode

Another workaround is to use page builder. Since Series is just a taxonomies, you could use any page builder to build the layout and pull the data from Series taxonomy.

    Thanks,

Sorry, I don’t know if the first suggestion answers it fully tbh.

I’m trying to do something like this in the TOC:

Not the inner taxonomy with percentage symbols (unless that is needed), but rather showing which authors wrote the entire series, how many posts in the series, and what post tags are used by posts in the series.

And if a Page builder would also serve as a workaround, would that include the Customizer?

Finally, would this need a Pro purchase? Thanks.

This forum wouldn’t let me copy-paste an image at first, so I linked it from another site instead.

That will definitely require some custom code. I’m not sure if you could achieve something similar with page builder only.
