Display an Excerpt of an article WITHOUT what's after

  • Hi.

    I readed a lot of articles around and plugin on how to show less or more words than the default 55.

    But I can’t find a very simple plugin/way to display the excerpt, from the beginning TO THE <more> tag.

    Actually I’m using the_excerpt() but it shows also the part of the post AFTER the <more> tag.

    Can you help?

    p.s. Yes the_content() do it, but I need a function that do it without images and text formats, like the_excerpt.
