Hi, is it possible to have the option to choose a percentage discount when creating discount codes?

    Hello @webmasterguy,

Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro!

I have a use-at-your-own-risk code snippet you can use that will add a field to your Discount Code to allow it to work with percents.

I hope this works for your need. Further customization will require 3rd party development.

    Hi Kim,

Thank you for your response and the snippet. I see that it says “Currently, only works on initial one-time payments.” in the code sedcription – in the case of a recurring payment membership (monthly or annually) Will this still work? – As in it will take the percentage discount off of the 1st initial payment and then still allow a recurring subscription to take place?

    Thank you

    Hi Kim,

When we use this percent code to apply to an intial payment for a recurring memberships the wording on the screen makes the user think the discount is ongoing, not a one-time discount.

For example: Basic Membership is $50 per year with a $50 initial payment. We apply a 20% coupon code. this is wjhat the user then sees on the screen:

    “You have selected the?Basic?membership level.

The SAVE20 code has been applied to your order.

The price for membership is?$40.00 per year.”

When a dollar discount is used it instead says, “The price for membership is $40.00 now and then $50.00 per year.” Can the percentage discount have the same verbiage?

The use-at-your-own-risk code snippet only works on initial one-time payments, but the functionality you’re looking for is not currently available with the core Paid Memberships Pro plugin or any of our available Add Ons and would need to be custom coded by a third-party developer. If you would like to pursue this further you can reach out to a Partner Developer, who works independently from the PMPro development team, or Codeable. We will be changing the status to resolved. If you have any new questions or if your issue persists, please feel free to create a new topic.
