• Well, yeah, it’s free. But frankly it’s a bit disappointing. For instance, every time you write a post on WP, you should check the Instagram account, to check if it hasn’t been published for one of a number of reasons… which the plugin doesn’t usually inform you about.

One of the funniest reasons is that the text is too long for instagram…. normal, right? It’s a WP post! Error Message: caption too long. No solution, no possible fix. You should republish the post on WP, trimmed, in order to get it published on Instagram. I suppose the plugin should trim the text!!!

Or, if you change your instagram password, you have to unistall the plugin and install it again.

    Hi,

In case of not posting, plugin informs the site admin on his email address, if you select the option from plugin settings. If you are not getting emails, you can check spam folder. Only in case of missing featured image, the plugin will not inform because it will be considered not to post to Instagram.

About caption too long, its simply a setting in plugin options. You can set words like 200 if you have long caption. This support forum has resolved solution available for this issue. Even you could ask from us about it how to handle this. The plugin trim the text but in some cases, too many hashtags and long URLs exceeds the limit.

About changing password: No that’s not the only solution but that’s the ultimate solution. You can simply delete the user from login page with single click and re enter username and password. That’s it. Or you can select option to delete settings on plugin deactivation and just deactivate the plugin and activate again. It will refresh all other settings too.

Hope this will help you. If you still have any question or issue, you can ask us and we will try our best to help you.

Thank you for your answer. I think this is the only freemium plugin that can more or less manage the automatic publication on Instagram, so congratulations on your work.

I think this problem of “Caption too long” is something that should be fixed, but anyway that’s your decision.

    Example:
This morning I published a long post on WP (it’s not so unusual to surpass the amount of 2200 words… it’s a blog system, after all!), let’s call it A, and I got the “Caption too long” message. OK, so I made a copy of the article (a second post exactly cloned, let’s call it B), and I trimmed it to a word amount that seemed to me less than 2200 words. So I published it, with the goal of instantly to delete it. I did so, but I equally got the “Caption too long” message. So I made another cloned article, let’s call it C, more trimmed. I deleted it just after publishing it, and fortunately I didn’t get the “Caption too long” message. Finally I got to have it published on Instagram, but as the article published on WP is A and the one published on Instagram is C, the link that appears in the end of the IG caption isn’t correct, but this is a minor problem.

This is the trick I’ve used, in case it’s useful for another user, but I’ll look through this forum in search of other tricks.

    Hi,

But why don’t you set the option from plugin settings instead of actually reducing blog words? If its for testing only then OK but you simply need to go to plugin options and set words for Instagram. Like 200 or more. It will be trim automatically for Instagram.

If you can send us a mail at support[at]genialsouls[dot]com then we can send you details with picture.
