• Installed it, uploaded and named all my photos, and there is a load of buttons in the docs that don’t appear on the plugin as described.

Images do not display on the site – just “No Images where included in this gallery” where they should appear in my post. (note the incorrect spelling of “were”, as well as the absence of any functionality as described in the instructions).

Searched Google only to find others with the exact same problem in WordPress 3.5, and others with the same problem in 3.4 with a plugin authors “quick fix” (that doesn’t work in 3.5) and a promise of a cure in the impending release that hasn’t yet appeared.

Judging by the age of the posts and the few people using it, don’t waste your time as I have today!

    Man, seriously, relax.

The plugin, which is a freeware by the way, (i.e I’m letting you use it for free, although it took me time and brainpower to develop), is “Compatible up to: 3.4.2”, as it states in the description. When I have some spare time, I’ll update it. Currently because of the changes to the image management of WP there is no ability to use the selective feature.

A short visit to the plugin’s settings page would reveal you that you can tick “Disable selective gallery” on the gallery settings page to display all your images or manually add your images IDs to the shortcode: [gallery include="166, 167, 165, 164, 163, 162, 161, 160"] if you wish to continue using only some of the images.

Yeah sorry dude – just getting stressed with it after seeing 4 stars and spending an afternoon doing something I thought was going to be simple. Finally sussed this out anyway mate. I’ll retract my post.

Any idea when the next release is coming as it looks good, but understandably can’t be writing down photo numbers with loads of posts ??

Maybe a “DOES NOT WORK WITH WORDPRESS 3.5, YET!” might save some further grey hair and stress??? lol

Sorry bud it’s not even going to let me edit it let alone retract it.

Give me a shout when the revisions are out and I’ll write you a new one and give it 5 stars! Promise.

    Have a great Xmas!

Might as well add this for “B&B Guesthouse Birmingham NEC” anyway so you can see it in action again (and SEO. lol)

Also noticed the images seem to load way slicker in Chrome to Firefox too, if that’s any help to you?

    No worries.

Not sure when I’ll be able to update it, definitely not in the next couple of weeks, as I’m pretty preoccupied with projects, but you never know.

Re doesn’t work with whatever version. This is why there is a description part of “Requires” and “Compatible up to”.

In general it’s a good practice to check the compatibility of the plugins your site relies on before upgrading the core. I’m currently taking care of around 20-25 WP sites and virtually none of them were upgraded yet. There are theme compatibility issues, plugins, bugs in the new version etc., all should be taken (or better be taken) into account before upgrading.

Anyway, have a great Xmas! For me it’s more of a great Hannukah ??

The last couple of version of Firefox are bollocks. Struggling with it as we speak…

Tim, don’t worry about the review. The plugin is not here to get stars. It’s here as a contribution to the WP community I’ve benefited so much from over the years. If you like the plugin and find it useful – great, I’m glad.

    Cheers

    Hiya

    Firstly great plugin thanks!

Is it possible for me to add a previous and next button (2 buttons)
but underneath the image rather than on top of it?
Also I’d like to move the 1/4 counter to below the image
Trying to work this out in CSS by moving the nav div but getting nowhere!

    Thanks
    Mark
