I’ve been using this plugin for many years. I also purchased the extensions (the feed-by-mail in particular) three times. I made good experiences with the developer, who always replied to my mails. But now, I’m sorry to say that I will stop using this plugin.
By chance I found out that the registration form stopped working correctly. An error (“no input file specified”) message is displayed when entering a valid email-address. Furthermore, the design of field and button changed although I haven’t changed a single line of the css it used to support until recently. I have no idea since when this occurs and why, but I probably lost many potential subscribers due to this sudden disfunctionality.
Some other points:
More than a year ago I made a feature request. The developers promised to include it after version 4.0. We’re at 4.7.5. now. Half a year ago I sent a friendly reminder. Again, he promised to add the feature soon. It never happened.
To make sure the extensions are up to date, you have to explicitly check this via a special button in the dashboard from time to time. This means, if you do not check, you will not notice updates and use outdated versions.
The dashboard is quite complicated. E.g., it takes several clicks to actually get some statistics.
To cut it short: I like to support independent developers. But this plugin is just so unsatisfactory in terms of functioning, updates, and dashboard that I will switch to a professional email service.
