• Okay, here I am again with another problem.
I installed the plugin WP Blacklist 2.6.1 because no sooner did I have my blog back up and running, than the Texas Casino fool was at it again. This plugin seems to do the trick as you can set it to delete any comments that have blacklist triggers.
But what’s weird is that I’ve been posting some test comments, as I’d had trouble getting comments to post. Some (two to be exact) came through and others didn’t. What’s more, I had a reader comment on my blog welcoming me back. I got the email notification of it, but it is nowhere on the blog and it is not awaiting moderation. It just disappeared, as did a couple of my test comments.
When I click on the link in the email notification, it tells me this:
Oops, no comment with this ID.
I’ve searched the forums and find nothing helpful to my circumstance there. The good news is that the blacklist plugin IS working because I am getting notifications of all comments — including some from the spammer. And immediately after that, I’m also getting notifications that those same comments were deleted (the Blacklist plugin is following my instructions to send an email notification upon comment deletion).
I guess I can live with no comments it if means I don’t have to deal with the spammers. Because like it or not, in my case, there are far more spammers than commenters on my site anyway!
    Joni
