• I haven’t touched my website in a week. Today I opened it and the posts have disappeared. It won’t let me log in either (does not recognize the user)

I think wordpress has deleted the admin user along with all the posts.

    How do I fix this?

  • Sounds like perhaps something was done on the server, or possibly that your site was hacked. Have you checked with your hosting and/or looked at your site files on the server and on the database?

I’m able to access the web-hosting server and the only user it shows is my web-developer’s.

My admin username has disappeared along with my posts.

The website is 974magazine.com and the webhost is ipage.
I now tried to add a user in the https://mysqladmin.ipage.com/mysqladmin/index.php and it gave back an error message.

So I am going to assume that your admin username wasn’t ADMIN or admin. If it was, fire your developer IMMEDIATELY.

Actually, fire him after you do the following step

    1) Ask your developer why your admin account dissapeared?
    2) Ask him to create a new administrator account on your site
    3) Log in with your admin account, and if your developer deleted YOUR admin account…delete HIS admin account, change CPANEL and all passwords.
    4) Fire him

If your developer didn’t delete your account, get him to do #2, and get him to change HIS password, as most likely someone hacked your site.

It’s good to change passwords every few months.

Actually my web developer can’t log in either. His access it being revoked too.

I’m trying to contact the hosting now. Perhaps something went wrong from their side.
