disallowing file edit from editor

    I read somewhere that disallowing file edit through editor mmight be a great way to protect your site. do you agree? i for example almost never do edit from there anyway plus i dont know much coding anyway.

    they recomend pasting this code to wp-config.php

    define( ‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true );

    do you agree? is it the way? also will it have negative side effects though?

    if this looks fine, where exactly in that file i paste this code?

    Have you had a security breach now or in the past?

    Do you have other security measures in place?

    My philosphy is to not change files but to leverage native, built-in capabilities. Keep it simple if practical.
