We need to edit this page because the standard template uses incompatible markup for our theme. We read the documentation and decided to disable the synch feature. As far as we understand it, this should provide us with editable text; hower the editor stays empty (although the block is still visible in the document outline, and the page renders the text in the frontend). We have made sure caching is not the issue here. Please advise, thanks.

    Hi @nowton,

You should be able to set the document to “Edit document & stop synchronization” in the editor that you’re using for this page, e.g. Classic Editor or Gutenberg.

The exact steps on where to change this would depend on which editor is used in your case, the instructions are listed here: https://complianz.io/editing-legal-documents/.

After doing so, the document will no longer use the dynamic shortcode but places the actual HTML that can be freely edited.

    Kind regards, Jarno

I opened this support topic, because it’s not working according to documentation.

    • I disable synch (in Gutenberg)
    • Nothing happens
    • When refreshing the page the block is visible in the outliner
    • But the editor is still blank

Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

we have tried to follow the steps of the guide locally, and everything is working as expected.

For example, by opening the Gutenber editor, in the right sidebar you can find these options https://prnt.sc/HacRq14Rm3QQ

Upon selecting Edit Document and stop syncronization, the text of the policy becomes editable even if the block seems enabled.

    Example here: https://prnt.sc/QYTYIYviVm90

Since the issue is not reproducible on our end we would recommend to test if the problem persists with Complianz as the sole activated plugin & with a default WordPress theme.?
If this works, re-enable plugins & theme one by one and keep testing until it stops working again, at which point you’ll know exactly which one was the culprit.?

    Hope this helps.
