Disabling Sitemaps

I would like to use another plugin for sitemaps and would like to know the proper way to disable this feature in Yoast. Do I just uncheck the box next to “Check this box to enable XML sitemap functionality” and then install my new sitemaps plugin? I want to make sure I don’t mess anything up ?? Thanks!
