• I wanted to implement the selective loading of the JS and CSS for Capture Form 7 w/ reCaptcha enabled, and I tried the wp-config.php method. It’s not working. I keep seeing JS and CSS resources from the plug-in. Additionally, I’m seeing the reCaptcha code everywhere on the site.

I’m using the 2017 theme in a pretty stock implementation running a few other plug-ins that should NOT be trampling over Contact Form 7.

OK — an update to this. I think the wp-config.php changes were heavily cached. I’ve purged all caches several times, and I’m finally NOT seeing the CSS and JS in Chrome’s developer panel.

That said, your 2nd step in the instructions for re-enabling the plug-in CSS and JS on specific pages where the contact form is active requires that you have a custom theme template. Is this correct?

Example — I’ve just created a new page and dropped in the Contact Form 7 shortcode. I don’t want to bother duplicating the base template to then add the wpcf7_enqueue_scripts and wpcf7_enqueue_styles calls. Is there another way to add the CSS and JS to a page without having to fork a template in the theme?
