Disabling firewall will disable login protection?

  • Hi there I am testing the plugin on a site that has roughly 20 plugins installed and wondering how much will the firewall affect performance, as the site is quite slow although it is hosted on a VPS account with 4GB RAM.
    I thought that it would be wiser to start with firewall disabled also because what is very important to me is to protect brute-force login attacks.
    Disabling the firewall will also disable login protection?

    I have disabled the plugin because it impacts page load, although I have disabled live traffic view and it helped a bit but not enough!
