I am using a specific theme which has profile editing capabilities on the frontend.
I have disabled user access to the backend, which means that the non-page based 2FA configuration errors out due to no access.

Is it possible to disable somehow the hooks into the profile editing page and only use the page-based 2FA configuration?

I imagine it would be an easy checkbox or two in your plugin, but it doesn’t seem to be available unless I edit the plugin files (in which case, Wordfence will complain that the plugin has been edited).

PS: The 2FA front-end page works just fine, so there is no need for a profile page hook in my use case. I am trying to turn it off because it also displays every single part of the entire process within the profile edit screen, one bit after another.

Also, the 2FA mail code sender is “WordPress <wordpress@{url}> “, and not “{site_name} <{site_email}>”. It can be changed in the settings, but the plugin really should use the email and site name as configured.

By the way, I will be providing you with a Danish translation ASAP.

    Hello @ppehrson

Thank you very much for using our plugin.

Just to confirm I understood you, so you would like to have an option to disable the 2FA configuration buttons (and text) from the default user profile page?

In regards to the email address, that is a valid point. We will update that in the next version update. Thank you for pointing that out.

Yes, exactly. I would like an option to not display the 2FA option on the profile page.
It could be switchable, either a custom page, or display on the profile editing page.

I imagine it’s just a webhook that should be optionally set/unset. But I am not that much into the WordPress API anymore.

I am going to email you the translation file. ??

Than you for your answer @ppehrson

I have another question for you because I’d like to better understand your setup and come up with the best possible solution for you.

If your website users do not have access to the backend of the site (and of course the default user profile page), why would you want to disable the 2FA options from showing in the user profile page?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
