Disabling Comments

  • I am having trouble disabling the comments from my posts and pages. All I am getting for comments are spam, many of them (over 5k a week) are automatically approved and when I try to bulk delete them I get a “bad request” page pop up.

    Wondering if anyone knows what to do. So far, I have unchecked the “allow people to make comments on new posts” box, and added many common words to the black list box. I am hoping someone knows how to handle this.

  • In your dashboard (admin panel)

    Go to: Settings > Discussion

    uncheck ” Allow people to post comments on new articles”

    This applies to new posts that you will publish from now on. To disallow comments from already publish posts:

    Go to: Posts > Select all and “Edit” under bulk actions and hit apply > choose “do not allow” next to comments and hit UPDATE.
