Hello. I am currently using Tracks for my restaurant’s website (love it btw) and have removed all options to comment as it is an informational website and not a blog.

However, when disabling comments, there will be a light grey colored text saying “Comments are closed.” on the bottom left of the background after the post.

I would like to remove the line altogether. If that isn’t possible, I would like to know if I could at least move it in the white section (post background) as opposed to the dark grey section (site background).

    Thanks!

  • Hey there,

You might like to add this to Bens request:

    He’s looking for suggestions ??

In the mean time you need to do this in a child theme, and as you have no need for comments at all you could edit the index.php file and remove the 3 instances of this:

    comments_template();

More information on Child Themes are here:

Hope this helps, have a great day!

@tim thanks for the assistance ??

@darapourafzal As Tim said, the 3 occurrences of comments_template() just need to be removed in a child theme. I went ahead and made this child theme for you, so you just have to activate it.

    Here’s the child theme.

    To activate the child theme:

    1. Visit your site’s dashboard
    2. Go to the Appearance menu
    3. Click on the “Add New” button at the top of the page
    4. Click on the “Upload Theme” button at the top of the page
    5. Click on the “Choose File” button
    6. Select the tracks-child.zip file you downloaded from the link above
    7. Click the blue “activate” link

After that’s done, the “Comments are closed” text will no longer show on your site.

Thanks guys! It works and I have a child theme up which is making the editing a lot simpler.

I will try and get more editing done and see if I can suggest things for the next update.

    Hey Darapourafzal,

Awesome, glad to hear it! ??

Ben’s pretty amazing at supporting his themes and going that extra mile. Not all developers are this cool, as an extra thank you to him you might like to post a nice review for the theme:

Take care and have a great weekend, it’s almost here again ??
