Disabled home page when PHP 7.0 is turned on

Here’s a peculiar thing. I have a main website (as above, before the fwdslash) and a related site in a sub-directory (as above) running a separate installation of WP. All WPs up-to-date, all themes and plugins up-to-date. But … when I enable PHP 7.0 for the main site, the homepage of the sub-site more or less disappears, leaving the menus and sidebar intact. The sub-site homepage is almost identical to the main site homepage, same slider, same boxes of related links etc etc. I realise how obscure this is, but if anyone has suddenly acquired a lightbulb above their head, let me know – it will be much appreciated. Sorry I can’t run the Juniors page broken, but it’s a live site, so I’ve run it back to PHP 5.6 …
