Disable Visual Composer – Removing Short Codes Left Behind – Best way?

We are taking over a custom site project where the raw content was originally added using Visual Composer. A lot of the coding would be so much cleaner without Visual Composer and we’d like to move to custom fields.

Does anyone know the best way of removing the Visual Composer short codes left behind beyond manually deleting them? If we have to, we will, but if there is anything we can do on the database or if anyone knows a plugin, that would be great!
