I manage a website and use Yoast SEO. In search my user’s author page keeps showing up. I’ve tried everything to exclude this user profile from Google Search. But it is still included. I got reamed by the client for “trying to market myself” on their website.

I seriously need to block this from showing up in search results. Especially in the top results. See linked screenshot. https://bit.ly/2FXaQ7d

I’m using Yoast SEO v9.5, WordPress v.5.02, Avada Theme v5.8

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can disable the author archive for your user by going in WordPress to Users>Your Profile and under ‘Yoast SEO Settings’ checking the box for ‘Do not allow search engines to show this author’s archives in search results.’

If there are any other pages you are trying to set to noindex we also have a guide on how to set content to noindex here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-noindex-urls/
