Disable Sexybookmarks on Select pages/posts WordPress

I’m trying to disable the sexy bookmarks plugin on certain pages and posts. I read from your site “You can now display/hide the SexyBookmarks menu on a post-by-post or page-by-page basis thanks to the use of custom fields. All you need to do to disable the menu from a particular post/page is add a custom field to that page with the KEY of Hide SexyBookmarks, and VALUE of True.”

I am a programming idiot and don’t understand the instructions. Can you please explain in more detail where I add this key and what the exact code is.

I would really appreciate some help. Thanks

    I’m confused

  • Below each post or page you’ll see a section called Custom Fields.

Go to a post or page where you want to hide the bookmarks.

Under that, you’ll see “Add New Custom Field:” and below that, two fields: Name & Value.

In the Name field, enter Hide SexyBookmarks

In the Value field, enter True

Click the “Add Custom Field” button. Save the post.

I just tested this and it works. Good luck!

p.s. if this works for you, please come back and mark this topic as “resolved” – thanks!

Wow, I am so happy you helped and this completely resolved the issue. I feel really silly with how easy it was. I appreciate the help and will mark this resolved. Thanks!

Wonderful – glad it’s sorted out.

I’ll also say thanks. Exactly fix I was trying for on my own the last 2 hours. I fiddled around with the php call and other non-sense before finding this post. Thanks.

Excellent – glad it was helpful!

    Zoonini,
Thank you very very much. After one day searching the web, you give me the perfect answer.
    Regards.

    Hi zoonini,

I am trying to combine Category Shortcode with SexyBookmarks.

Category Shortcode allows me to display a page with posts from a certain category. And in my case, I would like to have the SexyBookmarks for each post that is pulled out. If I select the Shareaholic option “Posts, Pages, & Index” under “Menu Placement”. It displays a default SexyBookmarks for the page PLUS a SexyBookmark for each post. For example, if I have 2 posts in the category, I will end up with 3 SexyBookmarks strips.

Tried your fix to add a Custom Field but it is so efficient that it hides all 3 of the SexyBookmarks in the page.

Do you know if it is possible to only hide the SexyBookmark for the page but retain them for each post?

    Thanks in advance, Regards!
