I keep turning off the radio button beside the first entry in the list so there is no default selection and save. But for whatever reason it keeps getting turned back on. How do I disable permanently the first item in the list so the field is not highlighted with the appearance an entry is already selected. As it is now whoever is filling out the form will be able to bypass this question since there is a value selected.

    Thanks.

    Hi @avabusiness

If you are changing the option in your form, saving your changes, and come back to the form to discover that the change was not correctly saved – it seems like the issue you’re facing could be due to caching.

To resolve this, you can try disabling any caching plugins temporarily. Please note that plugins related to performance, optimization, and minification could display outdated data instead of loading fresh data each time, which could result in issues like this.

If you’re still facing the issue, it would be a good idea to check for any external caching services like Cloudflare or MaxCDN. You can put these services into “Developer mode” for testing purposes to see if they are causing the issue.

Additionally, it would be helpful to check if your hosting service has any caching built-in that could be causing the problem. Certain managed WordPress hosting providers like GoDaddy have a default caching system that may cause issues.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance with this.

    Best regards,

    Nathanael

    Thank you for your message.

I had already worked with the cache to make sure hosting is off, cleared it at many stages with the plugin, and also disabled the plugin (WP Fastest Cache) operating on the site and it made no difference.

Even creating a brand new form does the same thing. The options start off by having no default (radio button beside are all blank) and in viewing the form the first option appears in the dropdown window and the box is highlighted like it is selected. Then if I move an option or delete the contents of the first option to be blank it will automatically fill the radio button and again dropdown box is highlighted. This happens regardless of how many times I clear the radio button and clearing the cache before saving or after saving and with/without caching even available on the site.

    Hi @avabusiness

Could you please open a ticket in our helpdesk here and include an XML export of your form so our team can try to reproduce your issue? https://formidableforms.com/new-topic/

    Thank you!

Again I appreciate your feedback. The site in question is only using the lite version and from what I see for issuing a ticket screen questions for the lite version must be directed through the WP Forum.

    Hi @avabusiness

While the preferred option for Lite support is here – when sharing an XML file for troubleshooting purposes is necessary, we would never recommend doing this on a public forum.

Our team are happy to provide support via our helpdesk, and files can be shared privately there.

    Best,
