Disable Rename If Uploaded Via Media?

    First of all Great plugin!

    I am using Post-Title as name and I was wondering if it’s possible to stop renaming if the image is uploaded via the Media Library because seeing as it’s not attached to a post, it gets renamed to .jpg

    If I add {posttitle}{filename} and upload an image called Blue to a page called Clock, I would have assumed that the image name should be renamed to Clock-Blue but it gets renamed to Clock-Clock.

    Are you still experiencing this problem?
    I was testing it here and the filename isn’t getting duplicated.

    But in the example you mentioned, how you tried to upload the blue file? In media library or inside the clock page?

    Hi Pablo, great plugin —

    I wanted to check in as well regarding the filename being removed (chair.jpg -> .jpg) when uploaded directly to the media library as opposed to being uploaded to a post. Should this be happening?

    No, it shouldn’t. Can you please confirm that you are using at least the {filename} rule on your filename structure?

    I am only using the {posttitle} rule. Is it necessary to use the {filename} rule as well?

    Ah I understand, the use I was hoping for was getting rid of the original filename (DSC10005.jpg) and replacing with the post title (grand-canyon-hiking-trip.jpg as opposed to having grand-canyon-hiking-trip-dsc10005.jpg).

    Is that not possible?

    Perhaps ignoring renaming using the {posttitle} rule and keep original filename when there is no post parent might be an enhancement?

    Anyway, thanks for the great plugin it still works 95% for us ??

    In that case you can leave only the {filename} and you can mark the option
    Convert Post title – Converts filename to post title whenever it is possible

    I think it will work the way you want ??
