Hi, we have a backup from a site but I get an error from the localhost because recaptcha from Defender get on and I can’t login to the WP.

Someone can tell me how to disable, if I rename addons folder I can’t login.

    Thank you

    Hi @jgarcia79

    I hope you’re well today!

If you rename “wp-defender” folder inside “/wp-content/plugins” folder, Defender plugin would be disabled and it should not interrupt login in any way. Same would be if you would simply delete “wp-defender” folder entirely (try it if renaming it doesn’t help).

It may, however, be necessary in some cases to clear cache – in browser and/or server. I understand that this is localhost so there may be no “server-level” cache but it’s better to make sure about it (some local setups may still be using cache).

Also, what actually happens when you rename Defender folder and try to login to site – are you getting some captcha error or some other error (like incorrect username/password warning or some “lockout screen” from Defender)?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

Thank you, now I can enter and disable the Recaptha to the localhost test enviorement site.

    Thank you Adam

I don’t have that folder, and I’m having the issue where I cannot login even as admin, recaptcha is disabled and I have no redirect set. I am in my backend because i disabled WPUF by renaming its folder. I can stay in and reactivate, but if I log out, or it times out I cannot get back in because of this. This has been a problem with all user profile APIs I have tried, it either locks you out because the admin account is not the wordpress account and it replaces the /admin for the UF, or recaptcha breaks the site.
