Unfortunately, advertisements or notifications with the intention to upgrade to Yoast SEO Premium are a part of the free version as can be noted here — https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/

As much as we’d love to keep everything ad-free, we also have to notify customers and users who love the free version of the plugin to consider upgrading to the paid premium version.

The notification itself is also very useful, as with Yoast SEO Premium, whenever you delete a post or page, you will be given an option to create a 410 redirect that lets Google know that this content was deleted and removed intentionally, thus removing it from the search results much faster than keeping it as a 404.

You are free to dismiss the notification by clicking on the ‘x’ at the right-hand side of the post, or you can upgrade to Yoast SEO Premium and be guaranteed that it will be ad-free. We hope you understand.

Thanks for the response @mikes41720 !

To my knowledge, most nags in Yoast SEO are both less jarring (e.g. the redirect nag) and dismiss-able for a time (e.g. the nag on update).

This new one is huge, and keeps coming back every single time. On mobile, it takes up literally half the screen.

Surely there is a way to make it less obtrusive and bring it in line with the other upgrade nags you use throughout the plugin!

Can you please share a screenshot in which you highlight how it looks on a mobile device on your end so that we can take a look at it?

    Sorry was on vacation.

    Here’s a link from a bulk delete.

    Note two things:

    1. The nag is huge. Most other nags in the plugin are 2-3 lines max. This one is half a screen on mobile (and similarly disproportionate on desktop).
    2. The nag generates for each deletion. So on a bulk delete like this one, I’m left scrolling rediciulously to get to the post list

I know that’s there no standard for plugin notices yet (and no regulations for how WP.org listed can make use of them), but hopefully even you can agree this is a tad excessive.

    Hi,

We have an open issue which discusses showing the nag multiple times after a deleting a post/page here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/10240. We suggest commenting on it so you may be kept aware of updates. You may need an account in order to post.

And regarding the size of the nag relative to others? Is there an issue and an open PR for that?

    Hi

There is no open issue or PR for adjusting the size. However, it appears that the issue you are experiencing with multiple nags will be resolved in Yoast v7.9 as described here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/pull/10225. We are not sure when that version will be ready only that a fix is expected to be part of it.

You may wish to wait till the fix is ready as there appears to be a discussion on that GH issue here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/10240 on how to better implement the nag. Depending on what is decided it may affect the size of the nag on a mobile device.

Closed due to lack of activity.
