I am getting used to gutenberg.
Is there any way to get rid of the options box or move it elsewhere?
It is very distracting having it dodge about to the top of each block I start editing.

  • Hi @triplemaya,

There is an option to pin the block toolbar (options box) to the top of the editor, so it doesn’t appear for each block individually and you can access all the block tools/options from a single place.

To do that, click the ellipsis (three vertical dots) icon next to the settings (gear) icon on the top-right corner of the editor, and click on Top Toolbar to turn it on.

Image of the setting for your reference.

    I hope this helps you!

Thanks Kaava. I am an idiot! I clicked that, but did not get what it was doing! [Sheepish smiley]

New problem! The interface has started highlighting a section of the block I am working on. This is worse! Can someone please tell me why it is doing this and how to switch it off. Thanks.

    For paragraphs with just
    <p> … </p>
    it does not do it
    but for paras with
    <p><span style=”font-size: 14pt;”> … </span><span style=”font-size: 14pt;”><br></span></p>
    it does
    EDIT
I think this is after converting the page to blocks.
