Disable links in comments?

    I’ve been having some spam lately and I’m getting tired of deleting the modification emails, how do enable wordpress to drop comments with links in them?

  • what spam plugin are you using?

    i wouldn’t encourage dropping all comments with links in them… what if someone wants to respond to something with a valid resource or something? their link will get dropped… and that’s kind of unfair.

    i use Akismet (default in WP2.0 installs) and SpamKarma 2 – it’s not required for you to go in and delete the real spam, but you might want to check from time to time to make sure that nothing “valid” got marked as spam… other than that, it will automatically delete them from the moderation queue within 15 days or so…

    I’d highly recommend Spam Karma 2. You can set it to delete comments with “x” number or more links in them. You can also set how often it sends a digest to you of caught spam, etc. Great plugin!
