Disable Free Shipping

    We are using weight based shipping. We have the Conditions chart filled out up until 5 lbs. After that, there should be no rates shown since the rate table stops. However, the system is offering free shipping instead if someone has over 5 lbs in their cart – even though we have the free shipping value set really high and the basket total isn’t reaching that total.

    thank you for contacting us. Can you send us screenshots of your shipping method settings? Please make sure to send the set-up of the free shipping and the rules table with weight based shipping rules.

    It allows us to check your settings and help you set it correctly.

    So I figured this out – we somehow had a ‘blank’ condition under our two weight conditions – it just says “Price” with no values in “from, to” or “cost”. Once I deleted that row and clicked save, we are now getting an error instead of free shipping – which seems like the correct functionality. I wanted to upload a screen shot to show you the settings but I don’t see a way to do that. Thanks for your prompt response.

    Thank you for your reply and it’s great to hear you figured out what was wrong. Yes, I believe you are right and the blank rule you’ve mentioned might be responsible for such behaviour. Once the price values are not filled in, the rule is considered as granting the free shipping ($0 shipping cost) for every price range.

    Just for the record, unfortunately this forum doesn’t offer the images uploading functionality by default, so in order to upload the screenshots you need to use some 3rd party image hosting service e.g. https://imgur.com and simply paste the links here.
