    Hi Corey,

We don’t have any out of the box means for doing that, but it is possible. Are you familiar with working with PHP? If you inspect the file in plugins\give\includes\emails you’ll find all the actions you need to disable the donations-related emails.

Regarding disabling storing donation information, that would take some pretty heavy customization. Can I ask specifically what the use-case is for both of these issues? Maybe your clarifications can help us understand better usage for our plugin. Thanks!

    Thanks for the help.

For security reasons we want to offer both anonymous donations and ensure to donors that none of their information will be stored on the server.
This is important for a variety of organizations one example are those who want to support women’s rights groups in countries where those in power wish to prevent girls from attending school. Many of those have their emails monitored and getting a notification of donating to such a group is not ideal.

We haven’t really considered that but you give some compelling reasons. What about the actual donation part though? Would it matter if PayPal for instance save the donors details? Or how are you planning on collecting donations?

Paypal works great for these situations, the paypal account can simply be an email address, so when someone donates they get an email from paypal saying “you’ve sent money to [email protected]” no identifying information is ever given if the papal account is set up correctly and in good standing with paypal (paypal business accounts can be called anything).

I want to stress that this isn’t a critique of Give, just a suggestion of what a helpful add-on or option may be.

We’re totally not taking it as a critique! Although, I don’t think our plugin would be best for this type of usage. I’d perhaps suggest setting up simply a PayPal button or link?

Ya, while I LOVE the use-case, the big thing that sets Give apart from other WordPress based solutions is how we manage your donor information.

But Corey, last thing. What benefits do you see in using Give for this use case if the emails and donor information are totally gone? The easy form creation? Ease of use in general and nice looking forms?

You’ve intrigued us both. Last question, I promise ??

Easy form creation and a great UI, it’s the best out there.
    Thanks for humoring me:)
