    Hello WordFence Team,

WordFence is a nice plugin and it looks like new versions improve quality and enlarge functionality. That’s nice.

Unfortunately, sometimes, things which are probably meant for good, aren’t really helpful in the daily life. The dashboard notifications (little yellow circle with amount of notifications) are scaring users and let them loose time by checking things they either don’t understand or are not interested in. It would be great to be able to disable this feature (in the options for example).

It is the same annoyance than in Yoast SEO plugin..

    Best regards,
    WPBW

  • I agree. Please let us disable the indicator.

Also, if a plugin or wordpress update is set to ignore, it shouldn’t still keep creating a notification regarding that update.

I third this. I would like to be able to turn off the yellow notification/nag circle on the dashboard.

I 4th this. So far most of the yellow notifications have been duplicates of what is already showing in the Plugins or Core update notifiers. I don’t mind seeing Wordfence specific notifications, but I don’t need to click “Ok” to duplicate notifications.

At the very least, update the notification so that when I update the plugin in question, the yellow circle disappears! ??

I “fourth” this… once an entry is marked as “ignore”, there really shouldn’t be a notification about it in the dashboard, otherwise what’s the point of marking it as ignored if the user still has to keep responding to it!

Nowadays, people – and especially admins are flooded by notifications.

I agree, WordFence is a great plugin. However, some steps in the latest version are a going into the wrong direction in my opinion.

The yellow circle is just annoying and the information value that an admin gets from it is pretty low. To bring it down to a point:

I’m running 15 WordPress systems, imagine:

Clicking through useless messages – not once – but 15 times. Really?

Yellow circle = super annoying – additional value for admins = 0!

    Pleeeease let us disable it.

    Thanks.

Agree, I don’t need notifications that updates are available. WordPress already does that.

+1 Please provide a way to opt out. Either a code work around or actual panel change. Sooner the better. Thank you for a great plugin.

Yes, please! Remove the yellow dot! Let me opt out! I am searching for how to do just that and find this thread. Add my vote! Already see red dots for plugin updates and receive the email for that plus any other issues. Great plugin! No need for such loud tactics. VERY annoying.

    Hi All,
In the latest version of Wordfence “6.3.5”, “Dashboard Notification Options” section was added in the plugin options page to customize which dashboard notifications are shown.

    Thanks.

    Yes – it’s true – I’ve just found it.

    See here:

    Wordfence, disable dashboard notifications

Thanks a lot to the WordFence team for picking this up from the community.
    Much appreciated.

Thanks for pointing that out! Now I only see 2 little orange notifications, instead of 2 orange and 1 yellow! ??

From the picture posted above, it looks like you can only disable notifications if you pay for the premium version. Is this true?

No, it’s not – if you want to get rid of the message – you can – without Premium!

Premium functionality is only required in order to filter the pop up for certain events.

It’s two clicks – try it!
