Disable Comments on Menu Pages

    I am receiving a lot of spam comments that are being left on our menu pages (fortunately only I can see them in the control panel). I do not see how they are leaving the comments. Is there a way to disable some thing so that comments can not be left on the menu pages? Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @cathy9698,

    The first thing to check is whether you’re receiving comments on page automatically created for the Menu post type or whether you’re using the [fdm-menu] shortcode to display the menus on a Page, and receiving comments there.

    If you’re using the shortcode, and receiving comments on the Page, you’ll probably want to turn off comments on this Page. This page describes how:

    If you’re getting comments on the post created automatically for a Menu post type, you may be able to follow the same steps as above on the Menu editing screen.

    However, my plugin doesn’t enable comments on Menus by default. That means, if you’re getting comments on those posts, you may have another plugin which is enabling them for some reason.
